Dec 2013 – April 2014

This was our first winter both retired and our first experience as “snowbirds.”  We ultimately chose Florida for first snowbird season based on recommendations of some fellow GLCC members who have wintered there, for years and the fact that there was a major converted bus rally in Arcadia between Christmas and New Year’s that we have wanted to attend for years.  We spent most of our time at Williston Crossings RV Resort in Williston, Florida and explored as much of the state as we could by car on day trips.  We bought an annual pass to the Florida State Parks and made good use of it.  We also bought a SunPass for the Florida Tollroad system, and made good use of that as well.  We spent a week at Suncoast Designer’s in Hudson getting fogged RV windows repaired, and another week in the panhandle waiting for winter to end in Michigan.  On the way home we got as far as central Kentucky, and held up for five nights while we waited for the seasonal weight restrictions to be lifted from the roads around our house.  Our adventures are fully documented in our blog.  Here’s a map of where the bus went.
