Homebuilding (HFH)

In July 2013 we spent two weeks has part of an all-RVer crew building a house for the Habitat For Humanity (HFH) Eastern Bighorns affiliate.  It was hard, but very satisfying, work.  We have done a lot of work on our own houses over the years and enjoyed the sense of accomplishment that comes from seeing the very tangible results of our labor.  We both had white-collar “desk” jobs for most of our careers, and working with building materials was always a nice counterpoint to that work.  We acquired knowledge and skills (and tools) along the way, and thought that an occasional HFH project might be just the thing we need to prevent retirement from becoming totally self-indulgent, not that we haven’t earned it 🙂
